British Columbia Invited over 400 Candidates Through Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Draws
British Columbia Invited over 400 Candidates Through Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Draws
British Columbia invited 400 Candidates
October, 2021, British Columbia invited over 400 immigration candidates through four Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws.
The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) invited candidates from its Skills Immigration (SI) and Express Entry BC (EEBC) streams. Candidates belonging to the Skilled Worker, International Graduate as well as Entry Level and Semi-Skilled sub-categories of SI and EEBC streams were specifically invited as well.
The minimum score for the above draw was between 69 and 91 points.
As a part of its PNP, British Columbia has conducted a separate round of invitations twice a month since February 2021 due to the high number of skilled candidates from particular labor market sectors who registered with the province’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).
Separate draws were held for SI & EEBC streams where the candidates with the in-demand skills according to the NOC list were targeted. But along with sending job invitations, British Columbia has also sent invitations to Entrepreneur Immigration (EI) candidates for the first time since August and 10 invitations to the EI-base category and less than five in the EI-regional pilot category.
British Columbia continues to invite applications from entrepreneur stream candidates but the acceptance of applications in the EI-base category has been temporarily suspended. IT is currently under review and might be resumed in 2022.
Including the above draw, British Columbia has issued nearly 10,000 invitations through various BC PNP streams so far in 2021.
What is the BC PNP?
The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program is an immigration program that is dedicated to fulfilling the labor shortage in the province and grows the province’s economy and population density by inviting skilled/unskilled immigrants from all over the world to permanently settle down and work in the province.
The BC PNP is made up of two immigration streams:
Skills Immigration
Express Entry
Both of the streams are further divided into subcategories.
First of all, you have to register an account for the SIRS.
Then, you would be allotted a CRS score that would be based on factors like education, work experience, language skills, etc.
After that, British Columbia invites the highest-scoring candidates from each sub-category to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residency through one of its regular draws.
After receiving an invitation, you will have 30 days from the date of the invitation to submit a complete application through the BC PNP online system for further processes and you would be notified of the province’s decision after 2-3 months of the application submission.
