Ontario wants more immigrants
Canada demands more and more immigrants every year until it achieves its target of skilled manpower so each year the IRCC decides and allocates a certain number of nominations to all the provinces and territories through the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs).
So, IRCC allocated Ontario a number of 8,350 nominations plus an additional 250 nominations in 2021 for different streams like the temporary foreign workers’ streams, and the NOC Skill Level C.
Ontario had a sum of 8600 nominations issued as of November 10, 2021. And a piece of good news for the immigrants is that the immigration minister of Ontario has asked the federal government to double their allocation next year.
