A few days back Immigration Minister Sean Fraser tweeted that the previously-announced PGWP expansion will be available to PGWPs that have terminated since September 20, 2021.
Immigrants who hold post-graduation work permit (PGWP) work permits that expired in the duration of September 2021 to December 2021 will begin again from 20 September 2022.
Immigration Secretary Sean Fraser has extended the eligibility start date for the previously announced PGWP extension from January 2022 to September 2021.
The new policy is beneficial for anyone with an expiring PGWP. The change is primarily to accommodate Canadian Experience Class (CEC) applicants who have not had the opportunity to apply for immigration through Express Entry since September 21, 2021.
To decrease the number of backlogs, IRCC is planning to resume the visa application of PGWP holders from 6 July 2022. With a PGWP, you can work in any job for up to three years after you graduate.
This is a great option if you want to gain some work experience in Canada. A PGWP allows graduates to work in Canada for up to three years after completing their studies.
