Latest Express Entry Draw 233 Canada invites 4250 candidates
On October 12, 2022, Canada hosted its most recent all-program Express Entry draw. When they began on July 6, it was the eighth all-program draw.
4,250 applicants who received a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 500 received invites from IRCC. Candidates were able to receive invites from the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), all of which are Express Entry-accredited programs.
Beginning in December 2020, Express Entry all-program drawings were suspended for a period of more than 18 months. Only those who qualified for the CEC or the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) received invitations to apply throughout the hiatus (ITAs). Due to a queue of applications brought on by COVID-19-related travel bans, the lotteries were put on hold.
The IRCC also stopped holding lotteries for the CEC in September 2021. Lower CRS scores were continued in today’s draw. It improves the number of candidates who are qualified to acquire ITAs through Express Entry by reducing the CRS score. Since drawings began again on July 6, this has been the pattern.
The result for that draw was 557, and it dropped by eight or nine points every time for the first five draws. Smaller drops of six points occurred in the two latest draws on September 14 and September 28.
Expected soon: a new immigration levels plan
As a component of the Immigration Levels Plan 2022–2024, IRCC hopes to reach its goal of adding 432,000 new permanent residents.
Every year, the IRCC publishes a new plan year that details the estimated number of immigrants Canada expects to receive over the next three years and further divides it down into each immigration category and program.
The Immigration Levels Plan’s express entry goal for 2022 is 55,900 new permanent residents. Through Express Entry programs, Canada has so far accepted just over 28,000 new permanent residents between January and August 31. By November 1 of this year, a new Immigration Levels Plan is anticipated to be released.
Now, medical professionals can apply for Express Entry.
A few of the obstacles that prevented physicians from applying for Express Entry programs while they were already temporarily residing and working in Canada have already been addressed by Canada.
Since Canada’s medical system frequently operates on a “fee-for-service” approach, which differs from a standard employer/employee relationship, doctors were not qualified.
Therefore, technically speaking, doctors are regarded as self-employed. Experience working for oneself that was acquired in Canada is ineligible to be listed on an Express Entry application.
Being self-employed alone does not disqualify a candidate. An applicant may still be qualified for an Express Entry program if they have at least one year of work experience in Canada or overseas.
Upcoming changes to Express Entry
One of the first modifications to Express Entry that will likely last through 2023 is the exclusion of doctors.
In contrast to the current system, which issues ITAs to a wide variety of applicants purely on the basis of their CRS scores, Bill C-19, which was given royal approval in Parliament in June, will start giving IRCC more power to identify Express Entry candidates in accordance with specific professional experience, education, or language skills.
Describe Express Entry
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) all use Express Entry as their applicant management system. Candidates for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) in the Express Entry pool are now qualified for at least one of these schemes.
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), a points-based system used by Express Entry, ranks candidate profiles. The highest-scoring applicants are given an Invitation to Apply (ITA), after which they can submit a permanent residency application.
An IRCC official examines the application once the candidate submits it and determines whether or not to approve the candidate. In addition to requesting biometrics, the officer could schedule an interview or ask for other paperwork. The applicant will then be a permanent resident of Canada and one step on the way to obtaining Canadian citizenship if this is successful.
