In its ongoing efforts to attract skilled individuals and graduates, the province of British Columbia (BC) conducted its latest Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw on August 9, resulting in the issuance of 195 Invitations to Apply (ITAs). The draw encompassed various categories, targeting both skilled workers and individuals with specialized expertise.
Out of the total 195 ITAs issued, the majority, 139 ITAs, were allocated to eligible candidates falling under the General Category. This encompassed individuals applying through the Skilled Worker – Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC) option, Skilled Worker stream, and International Graduate – EEBC option and International Graduate stream. In this category, candidates were required to meet a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cutoff of 117 for Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams.
Eligible candidates applying through the Entry Level and Semi-Skilled stream were also considered, with a CRS cutoff of 88 points.
A portion of the ITAs, specifically 34, were allocated under the Targeted draw for the Childcare sector, specifically targeting Early Childhood Educators and Assistants (NOC 42202). These ITAs were issued to candidates applying through the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams, including the EEBC option, with a CRS cutoff of 60 points.
In a parallel initiative to address healthcare needs, 22 ITAs were issued under the Targeted: healthcare draw. Similar to the Childcare draw, these ITAs were extended to candidates under the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams, inclusive of the EEBC option, with a CRS cutoff of 60 points.
British Columbia’s proactive approach to immigration through these PNP draws serves to augment its skilled workforce across various sectors. These draws are instrumental in attracting professionals, graduates, and specialized workers who contribute to the province’s economic growth and cultural diversity.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to stay updated with BC’s PNP draws, as they provide avenues for skilled individuals to establish themselves in one of Canada’s most vibrant provinces. Further details and application guidelines can be found on the official British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program website.
