IRCC Continues Momentum With Latest Express Entry Draw Targeting French-Speaking Candidates
Canada’s immigration system remains robust as Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted a new Express Entry draw on December 3, 2024. A total of 800 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued to candidates demonstrating strong French-language proficiency, with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 466 required for consideration.
This draw follows closely on the heels of a December 2 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw, continuing IRCC’s aggressive approach to meeting its immigration targets for 2024.

November 2024: A Record Month For ITAs
November witnessed an active month for Express Entry, with six draws issuing a combined total of 5,507 ITAs. The month saw targeted draws for healthcare professionals, French-speaking candidates, and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) applicants, among others.
These selections reflect IRCC’s push to meet the ambitious targets set forth in Canada’s newest Immigration Levels Plan.
Canada’s Evolving Immigration Strategy
As Canada gears up for 2025 and beyond, new focus categories, such as the “In-Canada” stream, are set to prioritize applicants already living and working in Canada under the CEC and candidates in regional economic programs.
