Beginning March 1, 2024, Alberta is introducing a fresh opportunity through the Tourism and Hospitality stream under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). Those holding a full-time job offer from a qualifying employer in Alberta can apply for this new stream. It’s important to note that only a limited number of applications will be accepted.
The initiation of the Tourism and Hospitality stream aims to address workforce shortages in Alberta’s tourism and hospitality sector while contributing to the overall economic growth of the province.
Who qualifies?
The eligibility criteria for applying to AAIP’s Tourism and Hospitality stream are as follows:
- A minimum of six months of work experience in a relevant industry is required.
- A full-time, non-seasonal job offer from an Alberta employer within the industry is mandatory.
- Residency in Alberta is a prerequisite.
Additional information detailing the eligibility requirements and application process will be disclosed when AAIP begins accepting applications on March 1, 2024.
