BC PNP invited 318 candidates for Provincial Nomination
On December 7, 2021, British Columbia invited 318 immigration candidates for provincial nominations through its PNP program. The province of British Columbia held the draws in two parts where it invited the immigration candidates from the following streams:
The Immigration Candidates enrolled under the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, Entry Level, and Semi-Skilled sub-categories of SI and EEBC categories were invited for the provincial nominations.
Out of the 318 invitations sent out, 267 were issued to the candidates through the general draw, where the minimum cutoff score for the draw was set between 71 and 100, depending on the program for which they are eligible.
Whereas, the other draw targeted 51 candidates whose occupation qualified under
NOC 0621 (retail and wholesale trade managers)
NOC 0631 (restaurant and foodservice managers)
The minimum cutoff score for this draw was 103.
It was noted that British Columbia has conducted two rounds of invitations since February as part of its PNP program.
So, with the current draw in the count, the total number of invitations issued by B.C. has summed up to 11,000 invitations.
What is the BC PNP?
The British Columbia PNP is the province’s immigration program that aims towards meeting the province’s labor market demands by choosing and inviting skilled candidates for PR to the province.
The BC PNP works through two of its main immigration streams:
The BC PNP streams are managed by B.C.’s Skills Immigration Registration System.
The procedure starts with registering an account with the SIRS, followed by the assignment of the score based on factors such as education, work experience, and language skills.
Upon receiving the invitation, the candidates get a period of 30 days to complete the application.
After submitting the application, you will receive a notification about the province’s decision within two to three months of time. The validity of the nomination stays for six months.
The provincial nomination adds up an extra 600 points to the CRS score of the candidate, increasing the chances of receiving the ITA in the subsequent draw.
