    IRCC Issues ITAs to Express Entry Candidates in the Second Draw of the Week

    In a recent development, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has made significant strides by issuing invitations to candidates in the second Express Entry draw of the week, showcasing a focus on French language proficiency.

    On March 26th, 2024, the department rolled out 1,500 invitations to apply (ITAs) in a category-based selection draw tailored specifically for assessing French language proficiency among candidates. These invitations were extended to individuals with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 388.

    The draw held the previous day was general, encompassing candidates from all Express Entry programs, irrespective of their eligibility for category-based selection. In this draw, 1,980 candidates were invited, with a minimum CRS score requirement of 524.

    While the number of invitations remained substantial, there was a slight decrease in the minimum CRS score compared to the previous general draw on March 12. In that draw, 2,850 candidates meeting a CRS score of 525 received ITAs.
    March has been an active month for Express Entry draws, with another draw occurring on March 13. This draw focused on category-based selection for candidates in transport occupations. 945 candidates were invited, with a minimum CRS score requirement of 430.
