Under this newly established scheme, Indian graduates who have completed their education at any Australian tertiary institution on a student visa can now seamlessly apply for professional development and work opportunities in Australia. Notably, they are eligible to apply for these opportunities for up to eight years without requiring visa sponsorship.

Introducing the Mobility Arrangement for Talented Early-professionals Scheme (MATES), a pilot program designed to facilitate temporary visas, the agreement sets an annual cap of 3000 places for duration of four years. This initiative provides a promising pathway for early-career professionals with relevant skills and expertise, with Indian graduates being given preference to work and reside in Australia for a period of up to two years.
