The Skills Immigration stream of the BC PNP

The Skills Immigration stream of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) aims to attract skilled and semi-skilled workers in occupations that are in high demand, as listed on the BC PNP Occupations in Demand List. This category comprises several sub-categories:

    1. This sub-category targets individuals with post-secondary education or training, along with work experience in a skilled occupation.

This sub-category is designed for healthcare professionals who possess work experience in specific healthcare occupations designated by BC.

This sub-category is open to international graduates who have completed their studies at a designated post-secondary institution in Canada and have a job offer from a BC employer.

This sub-category caters to international graduates who have obtained a master’s or doctoral degree in natural, applied, or health sciences from a designated institution in BC, and have a job offer from a BC employer.

This sub-category is intended for workers in certain occupations such as tourism, hospitality, food processing, and long-haul trucking. Candidates must have a job offer from a BC employer and meet the minimum requirements for this sub-category.

To apply under the Skills Immigration category of the BC PNP, applicants must first create an online profile and register with the BC PNP. The BC PNP utilizes a points-based system, commonly known as the BC PNP points calculator, to assess and rank candidates based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability. Candidates with the highest scores are invited to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residency in British Columbia.
