IRCC Issues 7000 ITAs in Fourth Express Entry Draw of 2024, Targets French-Speaking Candidates

In its latest Express Entry draw on February 1, 2024, the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued a total of 7000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) exclusively to candidates with proficiency in the French language. This draw, labeled as “French language proficiency (2023-1),” saw a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cutoff of 365.
The Express Entry system is a points-based immigration system designed to manage and select candidates for permanent residency in Canada. The CRS score is a crucial factor in determining eligibility, considering factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability.

Details of the draw: February 1, 2024

If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

    First category-based draw of 2024

The emphasis on French language proficiency in the most recent draw reflects Canada’s commitment to linguistic diversity and its efforts to attract candidates with strong French language skills. This strategic move aligns with the government’s goal of promoting bilingualism and ensuring that new immigrants contribute to the country’s linguistic fabric.
Candidates who received ITAs in this draw will now have the opportunity to submit their applications for permanent residency. The process involves providing supporting documentation and undergoing thorough background checks.
Express Entry draws occur regularly, and the criteria can vary based on the needs of the Canadian immigration system. As the year progresses, potential immigrants and stakeholders are advised to stay informed about the latest updates and changes in the Express Entry system to enhance their chances of successful immigration.
