Newfoundland and Labrador issued 663 provincial invitations in its first PNP draw
Newfoundland and Labrador released its first PNP draw results, where it invited 663 immigration applicants for provincial nominations under the Priority Skills Newfoundland and Labrador stream. It was one of the first three draws of the province.
Nurses, software developers, and data analysts were also included in the invitation list.
The Priority Skills Newfoundland and Labrador is a newly introduced PNP that focuses on the highly educated, highly skilled foreign workers with experience in technical sectors or high-skill demanding sectors. The program was introduced in order to meet the labor market needs that were left vacant due to the population scarcity of Canada.
This program requires the candidates to have at least one year of work experience in one of Newfoundland’s in-demand occupations to be eligible for nomination.
It is also open to post-graduates with a Masters’ or Doctorate degree at Memorial University within the past three years.
The Priority Skills Newfoundland and Labrador is a program that considers the candidates who had submitted an Expression of Interest. It sends invitations to the interested candidates with an EOI, on the province’s online immigration portal.
The candidates have to meet the eligibility requirements of either the Skilled worker or Express Entry Skilled Worker categories to receive the nominations, which will later turn into an application of PR to the Canadian Federal government.
This EOI score is issued upon completing a questionnaire.
However, it is not compulsory for the candidates to have an in-hand job offer, but their EOI score should be high along with interest from the province’s in-demand employers.
The candidates also need to score above the minimum Canadian Language Benchmark in order to be eligible, must be at least 21 years old, and must show intentions to permanently live in Newfoundland & Labrador.
