Saskatchewan Invited 633 Candidates in the Latest SINP Draw
Saskatchewan invited 633 candidates in the latest SINP draw
On 18th November, Saskatchewan held the largest PNP draw of the year where it invited 633 immigration candidates. The two main categories under the SINP provided the path for the draw.
The latest draw took place after a break of two months and the province finally invited candidates for permanent residency through two of its streams under the SINP.
Out of the 633 invited candidates, 425 candidates were eligible for the SINP’s Express Entry sub category, and 208 were eligible for the Occupations In-Demand sub-category. The lowest scorers in each of the categories had 65 points on Saskatchewan’s Expression of Interest (EOI) ranking system.
This draw had a list of 14 eligible occupations for each category.
Both the streams also had a similar requirement of the candidates’ educational credential Assessments to demonstrate that their educational level was parallel to that of the Canadian educational system.
What is Saskatchewan’s Express Entry sub-category?
This program or category is a PNP-linked Express Entry stream where the province can search the federal Express Entry pool of applicants for the eligible candidates for meeting its provincial labor market demands.
There are three of Canada’s main economic-class immigration programs under the Express Entry stream:
The Express Entry candidates are required to create an Expression of Interest profile for Saskatchewan in order to be considered for an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination. And after receiving a provincial nomination from the province of Saskatchewan, the candidates are awarded an additional 600 points for their CRS score. This addition of points increases their chances of getting the invitation in the subsequent draw.
The Occupations In-Demand sub-category is a stream under the SINP that is open for the applicants with no Express Entry profile.
This program invites highly-skilled foreign candidates to Saskatchewan, who doesn’t yet have a job offer in the province but are eligible for one of the highly-skilled, in-demand occupations of the province.
The foreign nationals have to create an EOI profile through the SINP’s online application system if they wish to immigrate to Canada through this program.
It assesses the candidates on various factors such as work experience, education, language ability, age, and connections to the province that demonstrate their ability to settle in Saskatchewan.
