Quebec Skilled Workers Program (QSW)
The Quebec Skilled Worker Program is for candidates with skilled work experience and who can contribute to the economy of the province and plan to settle in Quebec. The Program does not require French proficiency and also considers English speakers who wish to settle in Quebec.
How to Apply for Quebec Skilled Worker Program?
Candidates willing to apply under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program must meet the minimum required score on the assessment grid of QSW. Those with sufficient points can submit an Expression of Interest through the Arrima portal. After this, candidates receive an invite to submit their complete application for a certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ – Québec selection certificate). Finally, after receiving a CSQ, an applicant becomes eligible to submit an official application for Canadian permanent residence.
What is Arrima Online Portal?
The Quebec Ministère de l’Immigration, Francisation et Integration (MIFI) manages the applications for the Quebec Skilled Worker (QSW) program via the Arrima portal.
Applicants who wish to apply to QSW need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) form online with the required information about language proficiency, work experience, a field of training, and education. Based on their scores, candidates then enter the pool from where MIFI select candidates to apply for a CSQ.
After the invite, candidates have a stipulated amount of time to submit a complete application. Applications submitted via the Arrima portal for CSQ gets processed within six months.
What are the Selection Factors for Quebec Skilled Worker Program?
Applicants must meet the minimum required on the eligibility grid to receive a certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ – Québec selection certificate). The points for education depend on the area of study of the applicant.
While candidates applying with a spouse need to score a minimum of 52 points on the employability factors and 59 points in total, those without a spouse need to score 43 points on the employability factors and 50 points in total.
