      Skilled Workers in Manitoba

      The skilled Worker Program comprises three immigration streams targeting workers who have already gained employment experience or offers of employment in Manitoba. Applicants must be working and living in Manitoba while applying under this stream or in some cases, one might get an invitation to apply after attending a recruitment session with MPNP overseas.

      Educational Qualification Post-secondary degree or training related to the offered job; in the case of NOC Skill Level D or C, applicants without a post-secondary degree must have necessary job-related training
      License Application If required, apply to the regulatory body for skills assessment
      Work Experience Minimum of two years of relevant work experience within the last five years
      Adaptability Display intent and proof of intent to live and work in Manitoba
      Language Skill For NOC Skill Level D or C, CLB/NCLC 4; For NOC Skill Level B, A, or 0, CLB/NCLC 5; For Compulsory Trades, CLB/NCLC 6; For Regulated Occupations, CLB/NCLC 7
      Additional Job Offer Requirements Long-term, full-time work meeting Manitoba's employment standards; employer must have a registered business active for at least three years; job must not be home-based, commission-based, part-time, seasonal, or temporary

      The eligibility criteria of the Manitoba Work Experience Pathway are:

      Language Skill For NOC Skill Level D or C, CLB/NCLC 4; For NOC Skill Level B, A, or 0, CLB/NCLC 5; For Compulsory Trades, CLB/NCLC 6; For Regulated Occupations, CLB/NCLC 7; Additional points for CLB/NCLC 5 in the second official language
      Adaptability Display intent and proof of intent to live and work in Manitoba
      Work Experience International Students: Graduates from Manitoba or outside Manitoba working in in-demand occupations, with at least 12 months of work in the province; International Students and Temporary Foreign Workers: Graduates from Manitoba or outside Manitoba in in-demand occupations, with at least six months or 12 months of work in the province respectively, must have an LMIA or LMIA-exempt work permit
      Additional Job Requirements Full-time, long-term job meeting Manitoba's employment standards; employer must have a registered business active for at least three years; job must not be home-based, commission-based, part-time, seasonal, or temporary

      Skilled Workers Overseas

      This program category is for skilled workers who can contribute to Manitoba’s workforce and can easily get settled in the province. All streams of this category give priority to workers with experience in Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations.

      There are three pathways within this stream:

      Factors Minimum Requirement
      Age Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of applying
      Work Experience Requires a minimum of six months of work experience in a job listed within the in-demand occupations list
      Submission of Career Plan Submission of a complete Career Plan
      Educational Qualification Must have completed a post-secondary degree lasting at least one year
      License Application If required, must apply to the regulatory body for skills assessment
      Adaptability Must demonstrate the intention to live and work in Manitoba, supported by a close or distant relative or close friend who has resided in Manitoba for at least one year
      Invitation to Apply (ITA) Must possess a valid Invitation to Apply (ITA) provided by the MPNP
      Language Skill For NOC Skill level B, CLB/NCLC 6; For NOC skill level A or 0, CLB/NCLC 7
      Settlement Funds Must provide proof of liquid funds meeting the criteria of the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) for living independently for six months

      The eligibility criteria of the Human Capital Pathway are:

      Factors Minimum Requirement
      Educational Qualification Completion of a post-secondary course lasting at least one year
      License Application If required, apply to the regulatory body for skills assessment
      Work Experience To receive EOI ranking points, minimum six months of full-time employment; zero points for less than twelve months of total work experience; work must be in an occupation listed under the in-Demand Occupations List
      Submission of Career Plan Submission of a complete Career Plan
      Age Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of applying; no upper age limit, but no points awarded if above 45 years old
      Adaptability Display intent to live and work in Manitoba; confirmed support from a relative or close friend who has lived in Manitoba for at least one year, or possession of a valid Invitation to Apply (ITA) by the MPNP, or work experience in Manitoba within the last five years, or completion of post-secondary education in Manitoba within the past five years; additional points awarded if common-law partner or spouse holds at least a bachelor’s degree, or if spouse has minimum CLB/NCLC 5 language proficiency
      Language Skill For NOC Skill Level B, A, or 0, CLB/NCLC 5; For Compulsory Trades, CLB/NCLC 6; For Regulated Occupations, CLB/NCLC 7; Additional points awarded if second official language has minimum CLB/NCLC 5 score
